Intel has a long
history of working to improve education worldwide, and its ongoing programs
prepare teachers and students for success in the global economy.

Infrastructure: After the devastation caused by the Tsunami in 2004 in
Arkaduthurai near Nagapattinum, Intel has set up a school and developed
community infrastructure in the township as a part of a two year
community involvement project. This project aims at providing necessary
skills to the children, youth, and the community in general.

The Intel®
Teach Program is a worldwide initiative to help classroom teachers learn
how best to use technology to improve teaching and learning.

In India,
the Program was launched in February 2000 and has spread to 14 states
nationwide. A total of 6,50,00 teachers across 32,000 schools and 1100
preservice colleges have been trained under this program

Higher
Education Programs: Intel and the University of California, Berkeley
have joined hands to boost entrepreneurial know-how in emerging
technology hotbeds around the world with a new curriculum development
program for entrepreneurship faculty. 'Technology Entrepreneurship
Education- theory to Practice'. This Entrepreneurship Education seminar
provides a framework and curriculum that college faculty can adapt to
their local situations. The program offers a teaching curriculum,
classroom exercises, and other tools for university professors to teach
the basics of entrepreneurship to engineers and scientists, creating
innovative business people with cross-disciplinary skills, technical
expertise, and the ability to seize market opportunities.

Intel
Corporation is supporting select universities who are involved in
education surrounding advancing the move of Multi-Core architecture.
Intel Corporation initiated Multi-Core research and Curriculum
Development program focused on Intel Multi-Core architecture (Intel
Multi-Core university program). Theses training programs by Intel
Software College has been attended by over 400 faculty from nearly 200
colleges.

The Intel®
Learn Program (aimed at reaching out to children and adolescents in
communities that have limited or no access to technology) has touched
over 24,000 learners in over 100 240 Akshaya centres.
